چکیده
Midface defects can be life-changing, both functionally and psychologically, for the affected patient. Additionally, restoration of form, function, aesthetics challenging reconstructive surgeon. For affecting facial subunits such as nose orbit, a maxillofacial prosthetic obturate defect achieve aesthetically pleasing outcomes. Osseointegrated implants placed into sound bone at site allows prosthodontist to optimize prosthesis retention without need adhesive or mechanical device. In this article, we will share our multidisciplinary treatment protocol outcome addressing large midface using osseointegrated implant-retained prosthetics. Finally, also experience challenges in incorporation digital technology processes plan. evolving age, rapid prototyping technologies have provided surgeon ability accurately plan execute predictable reproducible results complex array defects.

Osseointegrated implant-based dental rehabilitation in head and neck reconstruction patients.
BACKGROUND Dental restoration is an integral part of head and neck cancer reconstruction. METHODS We evaluated the success rate of osseointegrated implants in patients with head and neck cancer, comparing outcomes between implants placed in fibula free flaps to those placed in native mandibular and maxillary bone. RESULTS A total of 1132 implants were placed in 246 patients. The overall imp...

In the last two decades treatment for head and neck cancers has evolved with multiple modality treatments, including radiation and chemotherapy in an effort to enhance local and regional disease control, reduce distant metastasis, preserve anatomic structures ,and improve overall survival and quality of life (QOL). Surgery is first choice for early cancers and for cancers that do not respond to...
متن کاملZygoma implant-supported prosthetic rehabilitation after partial maxillectomy using surgical navigation: a clinical report
The rehabilitation of patients with acquired defects of the maxilla is a challenge in terms of reestablishing oronasal separation. In most patients these goals are met by means of prosthetic rehabilitation with an obturator prosthesis. If the remaining dentition does not offer sufficient retention and support, the placement of zygoma implants can enhance the stability of the prosthesis. Due to ...

This case report describes the rehabilitation of a patient who had been treated with a hemimaxillectomy, reconstruction with a latissimus dorsi vascularized free flap, and radiotherapy for carcinoma of the sinus some years previously. Limited jaw opening, difficult access through the flap to the bony site, and the very small amount of bone available in which to anchor the implant inspired the d...
